Packing, cartons and CBM
How container loading is calculated for wooden toys, and what carton data we publish.
Carton volume (CBM) = length × width × height in metres. A 20GP holds roughly 28 CBM of usable space and a 40HQ roughly 68 CBM. Divide the container volume by the carton volume to get cartons per container, then multiply by pieces per carton.
1,160 styles in the live catalogue currently carry enough carton data to calculate an approximate loading figure. Every product page shows the estimate when the data exists; when it does not, we confirm it with the workshop before quoting.
The estimate is not a loading plan. Real loading depends on carton orientation, stacking strength and the mix. For a mixed container we build the plan from the carton list before production.
